Basic Volunteer Information

  • Generally when we are the Away Team, the only duty assigned is score table. This varies between the Boys and Girls Leagues and at a different age levels. The exception is if the coach or manager asks you to help in another capacity. If that is the case, please email the Team Manager and REPORT THE CHANGES DIRECTLY TO THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR via email. Include the date and time of the game, the team that you volunteered for, your first and last name, and the players first and last name.

  • During home games, there are two openings listed for each game: Score Keeper, and Time Keeper. These opportunities are found under the DIBS tab. Please know that the Coaches, the Team Manager, or another AALA representative may ask for help at the last minute. Sometimes people aren't able to fulfill their commitment at the last minute.

  • If you end up covering for somebody else, please tell your Team Manager and  REPORT THE CHANGES DIRECTLY TO THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR via email. Include the date and time of the game, the team that you volunteered for, your first and last name, and the players first and last name. The Volunteer Coordinator receives a large number of emails and if you don't provide this information, you may not get credit.

  • If you have to cancel, you can do so online up until 24 hours prior to the game. Please let your manager know as soon as possible that you need that spot filled.

  • Sometimes coaches need to miss practice and ask other adults to supervise.  If a coach ever asks you to help out, you get credit.  Just let your manager know.

  • If you look on the DIBS page and nothing is listed, that means that everything has been taken for the time being.
